The cache on my computer has since been deleted, but I suppose it could be possible to recover this data. Until a few weeks ago it was accessible here: http://web.archive.org/old-web/*/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_general_election,_1945

afaik the new wayback has been completely reindexed. sorry to suggest this but wikipedia does keep an archive that is downloadable. i'll still ask our wayback team about it.

I only noticed the difference because there was an image on this page which was deleted from Wikipedia due to copyright infringement. Deleted images are permanently removed from Wikipedia, except for a message explaining why the file was deleted. This image had been archived a few times and was accessible in the old Wayback Machine. Since the move to the new version this and some other pages from the mid-2010 to mid-2011 have disappeared from the index.

What did the Wayback team say? Any chance it could be restored in a future update from the old Wayback or a backup?
